Brandon is an emergency medicine resident fascinated by language—specifically, the words healthcare providers choose and the quiet power those words hold over patient outcomes. As a practitioner of medicine and a student of etymology, he believes that learning medicine should feel less like memorizing a foreign dictionary and more like uncovering a story that makes comprehending medical concepts easier. That conviction led him to create Medymology, an evolving project devoted to helping students decode the jargon of medicine while building communication habits that carry forward into clearer, more compassionate patient care.

Brandon's path to Medymology began long before medical school. Working at a community writing center—first as a writing consultant, then as center liaison—he collaborated with students from more than twenty countries, an experience that deepened his commitment to teaching and writing through the lenses of community literacy and narrative medicine. When he entered medical school, those passions collided with a simple frustration: there had to be a better way to learn the "language of medicine." Medymology was the answer. Today, Brandon is driven by its potential to strengthen health literacy, support public health initiatives, and empower health sciences students and educators around the world.
