Etymology:

Definition:

Gr. sēmeîon: “sign” + Gr. -logía: "the study of"

Often used in neurology discourse communities as the symptom expression of an epileptic seizure. However, more broadly, "Medical semiology comprises the study of symptoms, somatic signs and laboratory signs, history taking and physical examination."
