Pubis

Etymology:

L. pubes: “the hair which appears on the body at the age of puberty, the genitals”, so called because the pubis bone is underneath the area where pubic hair grows

Definition:

The most forward-facing (ventral and anterior) of the three main bones making up the pelvis.
