Etymology:

L. in: "in" +‎ L. flammō: “blaze, burn”

Definition:

A condition of any part of the body, consisting of congestion of the blood vessels with obstruction of blood flow and growth of morbid tissue in place of the normal tissue. It is manifested outwardly by blazing redness and swelling, with heat, or burning and pain.
