Ileum
Etymology:
L. ilia: "groin, flank"
Definition:
The last, and usually the longest, section of the small intestine, between the jejunum and the large intestine. Since it is the last section of the small intestine it is getting closer to the groin area. Not to be confused with ilium, which is a bone that is part of the pelvis.
