Hydrops fetalis
Etymology:
Gr. húdōr: “water” + L. fētus: “offspring”
Definition:
A condition in which an accumulation of fluid/water, or edema, occurs in at least two compartments of the fetus (in reference to "offspring"), sometimes leading to spontaneous abortion.
