Hydrocephalus
Etymology:
Gr. húdōr: “water” + Gr. kephalḗ: “head”
Definition:
A condition in which an abnormal accumulation of fluid/"water" in the cerebral ventricles causes enlargement of the skull (which, broadly, is why the etymology includes "head") and compression of the brain, destroying much of the neural tissue.
