Falx cerebri
Etymology:
L. falx cerebrī: “the sickle of the brain”
Definition:
The larger of the two folds of dura mater separating the hemispheres of the brain that lies between the cerebral hemispheres and contains the sagittal sinuses. When viewed sagitally, the folds of dura mater resemble a sickle.
