Etymology:
Gr. ex: "out" + Gr. anthéō: “to blossom”, so named because these rashes "blossom", or break out
Definition:
An exanthem is a widespread rash that breaks out, or "blossoms", on the outside of the body (compare to enanthem) and usually occurring in children.
