Epilepsy
Etymology:
Gr. epí: “upon” + Gr. lêpsis: “seizure”, and when combined becomes Gr. epilambánō: “I seize upon, grasp, take, attack"
Definition:
A medical condition in which the sufferer experiences recurrent seizures. An epileptic seizure is the clinical manifestation of an abnormal, excessive, and synchronized electrical discharge in the brain cells called neurons.
