Antalgic

Etymology:

Gr. anti: "against" + Gr. álgos: “pain” + -ic: suffix used to turn nouns into adjectives

Definition:

A substance that is used against pain. This can be a cream, a salve, a balm, a medication, among other things.

It's often used in the phrase "antalgic gait" (the medical term to describe when we notice someone limping as they walk), which describes when someone spends less time on one leg versus the other due to pain when using that injured/affected side to support their weight.
