Anisopoikilocytosis

Etymology:

Gr. ánisos: “unequal” (in this sense referring to unequal size) + poikílos: “spotted, embroidered” (in the sense that something is of variegated or variable shape) + cyto or kútos: “container, receptacle” (referring to a cell) + -ōsis: “state, abnormal condition, or action”

Definition:

Used to describe the presence of red blood cells of varying, unequal sizes AND shapes. Contrast to anisocytosis (only unequal size) and poikilocytosis (more so unequal shapes).
