Adductor longus

Etymology:

From L. addūcō: "to bring to myself" (from ad-: “to, towards, near” +‎ dūcō: “lead, bring”) + L. longus: “long”

Definition:

One of the adductor muscles of the hip, its main function is to adduct (i.e. bring the leg closer toward the body) the thigh and it is innervated by the obturator nerve. It forms the medial wall of the femoral triangle. It is relatively longer than its shorter counterpart: the adductor brevis.
